BAGS FOR GOOD is a project which aims to help us look after our environment and REDUCE waste from single- and limited-use plastic bags; REPURPOSE textiles by upcycling gently used items into high quality items, & REUSE items we love and look after.
BAGS FOR GOOD also helps celebrate well-being through sharing our time and skills; doing simple things to make a difference; learn new skills; connect with our communities; and appreciating beauty and creativity in the little things we do.
BAGS FOR GOOD also loves local businesses and community groups who care about the environment and our communities. Together we are developing more ways to enjoy the good things in life.

How it all started...

BAGS FOR GOOD is a project of Just Atelier Trust, a registered not-for-profit social enterprise working in Dunedin New Zealand. Just Atelier Trust works to reduce landfill by re-purposing textiles; build community through skill sharing; and celebrate traditional and innovative textile arts that weave new life into the fabric of our city.
BAGS FOR GOOD began in May 2017 as a community-lead response to the need to reduce our reliance on plastic bags, re-purpose textiles, and celebrates good design and craftsmanship. BAGS FOR GOOD brings together people who care about reducing waste, minimising single-use plastic, sharing skills, simple acts of kindness, and resilient local communities. BAGS FOR GOOD is a fully voluntary project, with has over 180 active volunteers helping us unpick, wash, cut, press, print and sew bags. Join our mailing list or follow our social media for updates!
